Career Development
Instructor: Susan Turner
Career development is a process that involves students, parents, teachers, counselors, and the community. The goal is to help students make good decisions about themselves and their future. The process includes helping students develop and implement an individual career development plan. Coordinating the process is the responsibility of the Career Development Coordinator.

The Career Development Coordinator (CDC) also helps students participate in work-based learning experiences such as Job Shadowing, Career Fairs, Apprenticeships and Internships.  To find out more about these opportunities, make an appointment.  Career Development Office is located in the auditorium lobby, room 239.

LIVING ARTS COLLEGE
Approximately 215 students from Photography, Art, Sports/Entertainment Marketing, Multimedia and Web-page Design,  classes were entertained and enlightened by Meghan Balfrey, High School Services Coordinator from the Living Arts College located in Raleigh.

According to Susan Turner, Career Development Coordinator, there is a large population of students at Williams interested in the Arts, AV and Communication cluster  It is important for students to know what post-secondary and career options are available so that short term and along term goals can be established.  Having this information will also assist students in course selection on the secondary level.

For instance, if a high student wanted to focus on animation and game design, high school electives to be considered in the Visual Arts Pathway would be Scientific & Technical Visualization which is a new course that will be available to students next year.  If a high school student is interested in Audio/Video/Film Technology, Multimedia/Webpage Design and Digital Media are courses a student should consider.   Interior Design is a class available to high school students interested in the Design/Preconstruction pathway
